POSITION OVERVIEW

This position will be responsible for driving strategies, prioritizing growth initiatives and executing across multiple areas of the business; including sales and marketing; product; provider network management; operations; operations support; pricing; clinical/cost of care, and technology solutions. The VPSS will be tasked with overseeing key relationships within a geographic region (i.e. likely seven states/markets), and also be responsible for nationwide delivery of assigned sub-segment strategies and go-to-market approaches.

Key to success in this role, the ideal candidate:

  1. Communicates executive level deliverables through presentations, including milestones and metrics in an easy to understand format showing past, present and future to senior stakeholders

  2. Acts as change agent to move Small Group segment from a coordination role to developing and delivering strategies across multiple areas of the business, often within local markets

  3. Oversees all key internal business relationships within an assigned geographic region.

  4. Oversees nationwide delivery of assigned SG sub-segment strategies and go-to-market approaches – owns end-to-end delivery of sub-segment strategies.

  5. Reviews and provides competitive insights and analytics to inform strategies, drive growth and exceed operating performance.

  6. Operate effectively with aligned Health Plan Presidents, segment leaders and other key stakeholders to leverage scale and enable improved operating performance to prioritize initiatives and share best practices where appropriate.

  7. Accountable for integrated go-to-market strategy that enables above market growth

  8. Identifies, designs and develops initiatives to enhance performance within and across local markets.

  9. Ensures delivery of the operating plan (P&L) for their respective segment/region.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's preferred)

  • 10-15+ years of increasingly responsible leadership experience with a large healthcare or related organization;

  • Experience and knowledge of sales, marketing, product, network management, underwriting, operations and finance;

  • Strategic thinking and demonstrated organizational leadership capabilities;

  • Strong analytical, innovation and creativity, collaboration, teamwork and communications skills.

  • Significant experience in building and delivering growth strategies as well as consulting a plus

  • Successful leadership and management experience building effective teams, managing cross functional teams, and continuous improvement/staff development programs

  • Demonstrated superior oral/written interpersonal communication, persuasion, and negotiation skills

  • Strategic thinking and demonstrated organizational leadership capabilities required

  • Key skills include analytical ability, innovation and creativity, teamwork and communications

  • Ability to successfully interface at all levels with the customer, industry, and corporate entities
