Job Summary:The Radiology Technologist works under general supervision to assist the Radiology Technologist in performing diagnostic procedures for patients and works effectively with patients and other clinic personnel.The Radiology Technologist will be responsible for compliance of all State and Federal regulations.Essential Functions: 1. Perform diagnostic procedures within licensure; achieving a high level of image quality in a minimal amount of time using correct anatomical markers .15%2. Demonstrates the ability to serve both pediatric and adult population while maintaining patient safety.15%3. Verifies patient identification, confirms written order prior to exam and explains procedure to patient. 5%4. Gathers pertinent previous studies, films, and patient documentation to submit to Radiologist for interpretation. 10%5. Responsibility for cleaning and disinfecting room and equipment after each procedure. 5%6. Monitors radiographic equipment functioning and cleanliness. Performs routine maintenance and reports malfunctions to supervisor/manager. 5%7. Assist patients with dressing when appropriate. 5%8. Is proficient on digital x-ray equipment including retrieving/storing/sending PACS digital studies. 5%9. Sustain the necessary skill set in Meditech to properly edit ITS orders, record procedures, print requisitions as needed and locate reports. 15%10. Become proficient in Synapse- locating patients, accessing the power jacket, properly scanning necessary paperwork into appropriate folders. Ie. r/x orders, worksheets. 15%11. Maintain the knowledge and skill set on Synapse/Meditech downtime procedures as outlined by SJO hospital, manually adding patient information, appropriate MM# and recording completed procedures as required. 5%Additional Responsibilities: 1. Assume clerical and film library duties when needed.2. Maintain individual tasks assigned in department.3. Provide flexibility to accommodate and maximize schedules.4. Performs other duties as assigned.5. Assist other technologists whenever necessary6. Other duties as assigned7. Ability to work and crosstrain into other modalities (CT/MRI/Mammography/US) as needed or required.Minimum Position Qualifications:• Education and Training: Formal training from an accredited college with an A.S. degree in Radiologic Science and completion of a radiologic technology program• Experience: 0-2 years• License / Certification: C.R.T licensure in Diagnostic Xray• CPR certification• New grads welcomePreferred Position Qualifications: • 2 + years experience
