Serves as the Range Scheduler, the position that requires a qualified individual to act as the system administrator for the Range Facility Management Scheduling System (RFMSS).
The Range Scheduler will coordinate all changes, additions and updates to the RFMSS as required. Schedules, manages and functionally executes range operations to maximize responsiveness, efficiency, and economy to Fort Irwin and the NTC; and, to units scheduled to use range facilities. The Scheduler will utilize Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS) to document the control and utilization of training facilities, as well as their necessary preventative maintenance work performed; and, shall be responsible for the preparation of administrative reports;
Coordinates all changes, additions and updates to the RFMSS as required. Monitors the RFMSS file server computer prepares daily firing log, range requests, changes and cancellations, coordinates airspace and compiles monthly usage reports.This is a union position. Other duties as may be appropriate for this position.
Experience: Continuous working experience with range scheduling procedures.
Computer experience with Microsoft Office, MS DOS, Windows and word processing programs.
Experience working with Airspace Management desirable.
Specific Knowledge: Must understand the application and function of target and associated equipment. Must have experience working with the Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS) version 3.3. Thorough knowledge of all ranges, training areas, weapons and munitions used on Fort Irwin.
Licenses: Applicant must possess a valid California Class "C" Driver's License and must pass Defensive Driver's course to obtain a military driver's license within 30 days.
Special Job Requirements:
Skills Required: Computer literate. Working experience with RFMSS. Knowledgeable in airspace management. Knowledgeable in FM radio procedures.
Communication Skills: Must be able to write and listen with comprehension to assist customers with range scheduling problems.
Physical/Mental Abilities Required:
Ability to use good judgment and common sense when performing job functions, follows written, verbal instructions and is punctual. Ability to lift 50 lbs. and carry the load for a short distance.
