Job Summary

TheFleet Maintenance Directoroversees logistical maintenance operations of all material handling, vertical handling, construction, light/heavy, military, and civilian vehicle assets in assigned area of responsibility.

Principal Accountabilities (Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)

  • Direct seven (7) maintenance activities in support of assets consisting of, but not limited to, line haul, vertical handling, material handling, construction, light/heavy, military and civilian vehicle applications

  • Responsible for the delivery of responsive, effective, and quality services to the client.

  • Direct the execution of daily maintenance operations in accordance with the applicable Performance Work Statement (PWS), company policies, OSHA, DOT, American National Standards Institute (ANSI), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and military regulations

  • Provide technical direction and policies to Senior, Regional, Material Handling, Fleet, and Logistics Maintenance Managers and ensure compliance with contract requirements

  • Direct all phases of planning, budgeting, analysis, and reporting related to maintenance and equipment operations as well as controlling account expenditures to obtain maximum utilization of account resources

  • Direct all internal logistics requirements necessary to support maintenance operations and coordinate with military logistics units and commanders to validate priorities and ensure customer expectations are exceeded

  • Cohesively work with materiel and property management directors to ensure rolling stock and equipment are properly accounted for and maintained

  • Direct the administration, maintenance, and distribution of approved publications, warranty documentation, Lost Theft Damaged Destroyed (LTDD), and Estimated Cost of Damage (ECOD) documentation

  • Oversee short and long-term financial and operational plans in support of overall company objectives, and monitor and maintain performance, product, and service quality

  • As available, develop or train personnel on all aspects of maintenance logistics

  • Perform other duties as assigned

    Knowledge & Skills

  • Working knowledge of heavy equipment and non-tactical vehicle maintenance, maintenance organizational structure, and operations

  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills

  • GCSS-Army maintenance module subject matter expert

  • Proficient at equipment parts acquisition, warranty, LTDD, and ECOD submissions

  • Advanced knowledge of DOT, OSHA, ANSI, ASME, military regulations standards, and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) requirements

  • Exceptional at team development, diagnostics, minor and major repair, and technical research

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software

  • Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment

    Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University in Business Management or Business Administration or related logistics field; may substitute two (2) years’ experience in related field for each year of college

  • Must be trained on the current Logistics Information System (LIS): GCSS-Army

  • Must be able to obtain a DOD Secret security clearance.

  • Must possess or obtain within 30 days of hiring a valid California State driver’s license.

  • Twelve (12) years of experience in maintenance, transportation, or similar field with at least two years in a maintenance management role

  • Must have successfully completed a U.S. Army commissioned officer or warrant officer management course, non-commissioned officer MOS 91Z (Senior Maintenance Supervisor) or equivalent civilian acquired occupational skill criteria contained in AR 611-1 and DA PAM 611-21.

  • Prefer experience managing US military maintenance management operations

  • Proven technical experience in interpretation and use of logistics automated systems

  • Additional experience/education may be required by contract or assignment

    Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable

  • Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions

  • Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
